It seems hard to believe that in just a little more than two months Warriors to Washington will be on our way for our Fifth Annual Trip to D.C. to honor our local veterans. Our organizations has grown a great deal since our first trip and we have experienced several events that have brought our veterans together. From our Annual Memorial Day Weekend Reception to our Annual Flag Raising Ceremony at Presque Isle State Park to the innovation to the Presidential Inauguration and a very successful First Annual 5K Race/Walk and just in the past couple weeks being honored by the United Stated House of Representatives and Congressman Mike Kelly’s Speech, we have enjoyed success. In the next two months another group of Post 9/11 Veterans and their guests will join us as we host them on our “Thank You Trip” to Washington DC. We already have several individuals interested in next year’s trip.
I wanted to thank all of you that have gotten us to this point and I look forward to the planning, meeting and greeting this year’s veterans and guests, and final details to be done for this year’s trip. Great work so far, let’s keep it up for the final push for this year’s trip and make it our best one yet. Lastly, as veterans we understand the importance of recognizing what our invitees have done for the nation. The cost to their families and what they have missed while serving far from home. September 14th will be here before we know it so let’s be ready for a fantastic trip and honor those that have served this great nation
